My California BSIS Unarmed Guard Card Expired. What can I do?
Unarmed Guard Card Grace Period
The California BSIS grants a small grace period for unarmed guard cards. California unarmed guard cards can be renewed up to 60-days past the specified expiration date.
There is a $25 late fee penalty, which must be added to the standard renewal fee.
Over 60-days
If the unarmed guard card is expired by more 60-days, even by a single day, the entire application process must be repeated, including repeating the initial training and background checks.
Armed Guard Card Grace Period
There is NO GRACE PERIOD FOR ARMED GUARD CARDS. If the renewal application for armed guard cards is late by one day, the entire application must be completed from the begining, including repeating the training, background checks, and 16pf psychological examination.
